In Loving Memory Of:


Roger "Bear" Mariani, a 31 years member of the Hells Angels entered into rest on Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Bear died in true Hells Angels fashion, on his Harley Davidson motorcycle touring on the highway doing what he loved. Born in Bridgeport, on February 19, 1945, he was the son of the late Roland Mariani and Elizabeth (Socash) Mariani of Bridgeport, and was a lifelong city resident. He was a graduate of Harding High School, after High School he proudly served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army and severing to tour of duty in the Vietnam War. A heroic man he returned home with two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. His lifelong love of motorcycling strength, honor and respect led him to become a member of the Grateful Dead Motorcycle Club. On February 17, 1975 "Bear" and his brothers became the first Connecticut members of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club of Bridgeport. He was a true leader and pure example to his brothers in the Hells Angels world. Bear will be forever held in high esteem by his brothers who loved him so much. A loving family man Bear devoted time with his wife, Natalie; and son, Dana. He and his wife, enjoyed and shared love of motorcycling and would often travel the county together. Bear was an accomplished motorcycle mechanic and had earned the Harley Davidson Doctrine degree through the HarleyPs Mechanical School. He used his talents as a Master Harley mechanic for many years at Stamford Harley Davidson. Survivors include his loving family. His family requested in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: AFFA, Always US Bridgeport, (BEAR FUND) 976 Unquowa Road, Fairfield, CT 06824. Visiting hours will be Friday, April 7, 2006 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport. Services will take place Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
